The annual audit the rules require, with a clear report and an improvement plan.
Decreto 1072 de 2015 (arts. 2.2.4.6.29 and 2.2.4.6.30) requires auditing the SG-SST at least once a year, with the participation of the COPASST or the Vigía, and using the result in the management review. An independent audit tells you, before an inspection does, what is working and what is not.
What it includes
- Audit planning with management and the COPASST or Vigía: scope, criteria and schedule.
- Document review of the system and verification of the minimum standards that apply to the company.
- On-site or remote verification of activities: training, inspections, emergencies, accident investigation and health management.
- Audit report with findings by standard, their evidence and their score.
- Improvement plan with actions, owners and deadlines.
- Presentation of the results to senior management.
We also audit
- Systems designed by another company or by the organization itself.
- SG-SST oversight of contractors, for companies that must verify their suppliers.

Frequently asked questions
Questions about the audit
Is the audit the same as the minimum standards self-assessment?
No. The self-assessment (Resolución 0312 de 2019, art. 26) is done by the company itself every December using the scoring table form. The audit (Decreto 1072 de 2015, arts. 2.2.4.6.29 and 2.2.4.6.30) is an independent check of how the whole system works. Our audit includes a review of the minimum standards, so it leaves the self-assessment ready.
How long does it take?
For a company with up to 50 workers, one to two weeks from planning to delivery of the report, with one on-site or remote verification day.
Can you audit a system another company built?
Yes. In fact, that is the recommended approach: the auditor should not have designed what they verify. We also provide SG-SST oversight of your contractors.
What do I get at the end?
The audit report with findings by standard and their evidence, the improvement plan with actions, owners and deadlines, and a presentation for management that feeds into the management review.
When was your last SG-SST audit?
The law requires one a year. Book yours and get a clear report on what needs fixing.
