SG-SST for micro and small businesses

Keep your company up to date with the SG-SST, without pricey consultants or paperwork.

Extandar uses artificial intelligence to automate what an expert does by hand today: the assessment, the documents, the work plan and the reports to the ARL. And an expert consultant reviews when needed.

We’ll let you know as soon as the assessment opens.

The problem

The law applies to everyone. Consultants don’t.

The law requires every employer to have an SG-SST, even with a single employee. For a micro or small business, complying usually means paying a consultant or spending hours on hard-to-follow paperwork, and many put it off until an inspection or an accident happens.

The law

What the law requires of you.

We didn’t make the rules: the SG-SST is defined by Colombian regulations, and Extandar makes sure your company complies without you having to study them.

  • An SG-SST in every company

Every employer must design, implement and maintain an occupational safety and health management system.

    Decree 1072 of 2015, book 2, part 2, title 4, chapter 6

  • Minimum standards by size

7 standards for companies with up to 10 employees, 21 for those with 11 to 50 and 60 for larger ones or risk levels IV and V.

    Resolution 0312 of 2019

  • Self-assessment and improvement plan

Every year, compliance with the standards must be assessed, the improvement plan adjusted and reported.

    Resolution 0312 of 2019

  • Fines for non-compliance

Breaching occupational safety and health rules can lead to fines of up to 500 SMMLV (monthly minimum wages) and closure of the business.

    Law 1562 of 2012, art. 13; Decree 472 of 2015

Fine ranges for breaching OSH rules under Decree 472 of 2015 (logarithmic scale). The final amount depends on severity and other criteria. Not Extandar data.

⚠If a fatal accident happens because the rules weren’t followed, fines are higher: from 20 SMMLV for a micro business up to 1,000 for a large one (Decree 472 of 2015).

The idea

Looking after the safety and health of the people who work shouldn’t depend on whether a company can afford a consultant.
Why Extandar exists

Large companies have an OSH department; small ones almost never do. Artificial intelligence finally makes it possible to offer every micro and small business what a good consultant does, at a price it can afford. That’s why Extandar exists.

FAQ

What people usually ask.

Is my company required to have an SG-SST?

Yes. The law requires it of every employer, regardless of size or activity. What changes with the number of employees and the risk level is how many minimum standards you must meet.

Does Extandar replace an OSH professional?

Extandar uses artificial intelligence to do the work an expert does by hand today, and an expert OSH consultant reviews the cases that need it, including those the law requires a licensed professional to sign.

How much does it cost?

The assessment is free. Keeping your SG-SST up to date will cost a fraction of what the traditional service costs today; we’ll publish the plans before launch.
